SAG Netherlands is a producer and supplier of aluminium products made from thin sheet metal, located in Katwijk (ZH). SAG Netherlands manufactures aluminium fuel tanks, hydraulic tanks, and related products for the automotive industry. Because the automotive industry is constantly evolving, we have also focused on developing and producing aluminium products that contribute to sustainable mobility. This has led to the creation of the Aluminized business unit. With Aluminized, we specialize in providing customized aluminium products, such as cargo bike boxes and fuel cell enclosures. We have approximately 250 employees working at our locations in Katwijk and Rijnsburg.

For the Product Engineering & Business Development department, we are looking for a PRODUCT ENGINEER.

The Product Engineer's responsibilities range from designing products based on customer specifications, tools, (making) machine adjustments, to implementing entirely new production lines. You will create technical calculations and/or specifications, analyze processes for continuous improvement, and optimize production processes. You will report to the . This position is available for 40 hours per week.

What will you do?

You will support the commercial process by creating design/proposal drawings based on (often limited) information using CAD applications. You will perform calculations, estimating machine hours and material usage, among other things. You will plan and participate in co-engineering projects, discussing details with Sales and/or directly with customer representatives in consultation with Sales. You will manage engineering documentation, both within and outside the PLM system. You will perform structural calculations and collaborate with the FEM specialist (SAG corporate). You will program CAM systems and ensure the timely availability of control software. You will handle work preparation, including ERP uploads of engineering and production data. You will make/design (innovative) design, detailed design, and production process choices. You will decide on the release of product design for production. You will identify opportunities for product, production, and engineering improvements. You will ensure timely delivery of engineering products. You will ensure optimal production preparation, including assembling accurate bill of materials and correct routing in ERP.

Who are you:

HBO-level education (in a technical field, e.g., Mechanical Engineering). You have knowledge of production processes, engineering processes, and IATF 16949 (automotive standard). You have experience with CAD systems (Pro Engineer, Creo) and CAM systems (Radan, LVD Cadman). You have experience in designing sheet metal and tube structures. You have experience working with ERP systems (BAAN is a plus). You are a customer-oriented, flexible team player. Experience with LEAN and Six Sigma is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide technical advice. Proficient in both Dutch and English.
