SAG Netherlands is a manufacturer and supplier of aluminium products made from thin sheet metal, located in Katwijk (ZH). SAG Netherlands produces aluminium fuel tanks, hydraulic tanks, and related products for the automotive industry. Because the automotive industry is constantly evolving, we have also focused on developing and producing aluminium products that contribute to sustainable mobility. This has led to the creation of the Aluminized business unit. With Aluminized, we specialize in providing customized aluminium products, such as cargo bike boxes and fuel cell enclosures. We have approximately 250 employees working at our locations in Katwijk and Rijnsburg.

We are currently seeking a TEAM LEADER for production line 4.

The Team Leader is responsible for the production of fuel tanks with the assigned team, ensuring that the agreed production volume is produced at the agreed quality standards and costs. You will lead a team of 8 to 10 employees (operators and welders) and report to the department heads of Unit 2. This position is available for 40 hours per week, and currently, it involves a 3-shift system.

What will you do?

You will assess the daily production goals of the team and the deployment of employees. You will manage employees, coordinate the production process, solve problems, and monitor the achievement of set goals (production quantities of fuel tanks meeting specified specifications with minimal rejection and within budgeted costs). You will act as a sparring partner for department heads, operators, and welders regarding the optimization of the production process. You will contribute to the implementation of adjustments to the production process and work methods. You will mentor employees and transfer technical knowledge. You will ensure daily communication about the status of orders via the LDM board. You will also handle time registration and relevant information about the production process. You will conduct progress meetings with team members and provide input on the technical knowledge and performance of employees to department heads. You will ensure compliance with production regulations, work methods, and health, safety, and environmental requirements. You will operate machinery, monitor the production process, assess specifications, program or set up the machines to be operated, and rectify any imperfections. You will conduct the prescribed quality checks and necessary measurements. You will maintain the department in an orderly manner (following the 5S principle). You will report deviations and/or hazardous situations related to Quality, Health and Safety, and the Environment, and participate in improvement programs.

Who are you:

You have MBO-level education and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. You are skilled in transferring technical knowledge and are a good team player. Knowledge of lean manufacturing. Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
