Description

Within the Directorate of Human and Robotic Exploration Programmes, the Coordination Team is responsible for implementing the formal aspects of the Directorate's programmes, monitoring relations with Member State delegations and partners, and preparing for and supporting the Director in Council and Programme Board meetings in close coordination with the Director General's services, while reporting and providing analysis for the Directorate.

Duties

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • supporting the Programme in terms of the development, negotiation and maintenance of partnerships and corresponding agreements (focusing on the Directorate's programmatic and technical aspects) with established and new international partners, possibly including the European Union and other external entities;
  • maintaining close coordination on the aforementioned activities with the External Relations Department, the Legal Department, the Director General's Cabinet and the ESA offices in Washington, Houston and Moscow;
  • participating in and supporting meetings of ESA delegate bodies and/or international partnership programmes, and providing support to related working groups and similar;
  • providing overall support concerning relations with international partners, including managing correspondence, organisational aspects and preparing content and materials (reports, briefing notes, presentations, etc.), as needed;
  • monitoring and analysing the status, evolution and prospects of the Agency's international partners and the international space sector more broadly in the field of space exploration, producing reports, providing advice and proposing relevant actions, as appropriate;
  • ad hoc assignments to tasks of programmatic and strategic relevance for the ongoing and future activities of the Directorate, the related DG services and/or ESA in general.

When performing your tasks, you will maintain close contact with all relevant Team Leaders in the Human and Robotic Exploration Programmes Directorate and colleagues from other directorates (such as the External Relations Department and Legal Department).

Technical competencies

Knowledge of ESA and its programmes, projects and policies (such as programmes in Technology, Science, Space Transportation, Human and Robotic Exploration and applications)

Knowledge of the European and international space sector (institutional, commercial and/or industrial)

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Experience in cooperative programmes

Strong analytical, reporting and negotiation skills

Ability to produce concise, timely and thorough reporting


Education

A master's in a relevant domain is required for this post.
